#452...attic construction weeks 5-8
The biggest change at our house this month is that we now have a back dormer, a new metal roof, and skylights. Here are some pictures of dormer progression.

Christie, We live a block south of you. We've been thinking about going with a metal roof. Did you have any problems with the Historic Board? Thanks, Joyce
Hi Joyce,
You do not have to ask historic permission to change your roofing material. It is actually really odd that they don't monitor roofing, yet are very picky about other aspects of the exterior. I guess roofing material is not a historic element. You do have to ask to change any siding, facia, windows, doors, railings, etc.
