#81...baby T's nursery

I was so happy to be able to decorate this nursery for my cousin Jenna & her husband Justin, who are awaiting the arrival of their first child. The jumping off point for the decor was the "you are my sunshine print" that Jenna bought on Etsy. I tried to further the 'weather theme' with a sun and clouds chenille blanket, a cloud mobile, and a bird wall sculpture above the crib. I made striped Roman shades for the four windows in the room, which you can find instructions for here. We decided to open up the closet space and make it part of the room, however I made a curtain door in case they need to close it off. I also covered the boring wood curtain rod with fabric matching that of the Roman shades. To see more of this nursery, check out my flickr photostream here, and for those interested, I will be posting instructions for making the cloud mobile and a few of the other things I made for the room in following posts.

Hi Christie,

I am new to your blog. I luuuurrrrvee that fabric you used for the bumper pad in the crib - where did you get that from? I am a native Houstonian who moved to Mumbai, India a year ago with my new husband. I would like to *try* and get preggers this time next year. Any chance you would want to come over a do a nursery for us?! Ha! I have got to learn how to sew...I see that there is a Sew Crafy in the Heights...maybe a Christmas class is in order for me... Also loved your own nursery - especially the dark blue walls with the seafoam (forgot what you called it) color for the shelves, etc. Just fabulous!

Thank you for the compliments! The fabric used on the interior of the bumper and the closet drape is by 'Vicki Payne For Your Home'. I purchased it at High Fashion Fabrics here in Houston at the corner of Elgin and Milam. Cut and paste this web address for more info on the fabric

Christie - I was showing this post to a friend and she loved the "you are my sunshine" print from Etsy. Do you happen to know the name of the seller?

thanks!

The seller of the Sunshine prints is Nella Designs and her shop can be found here (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5587246). She has a lot of cute prints and even printed off the prints I wanted in the specific color that I wanted!

Hi Christie! Love the cabana striped shades. I'm actually looking for that exact colorway--where did you purchase your fabric? I'm having such a hard time locating any! Thank you in advance!

Hi Hannah,
I got that fabric about 5 years ago at a warehouse store here in Houston, so unfortunately, I don't have any details to offer about it. Have you looked at Premier Prints....I think they have some stripes.
