I'm in California this week, babysitting my niece. While she was at pre-school yesterday morning, I did a little local thrifting. Here are a few pics of the things I bought. Now to figure out how I am going to get my treasures home.........
cereal size pottery bowl...$2
oversized brass lamp with shade... $11
4x6 inch horse watercolor...$2
yardage of vintage cotton...$6
small brass whale...$2
2x3 ft. flamingo print...$5

I have an idea - leave BLC in CA! That will free up your arms to carry the rest of your goodies without the flight attendant giving you a dirty look!
wow!!! love that flamingo print and the watercolor...swoon!
Love the whale! Hope you're having a good trip!
Hey-not sure how cost compares to UPS, but I recently heard about Southwest Counter to Counter--basically shipping things as cargo on a flight.....I'm betting whichever way you go, you'll be paying more for shipping than you spent. But, sometimes it's worth it.
BTW, I did arrange my books into a rainbow, and LOVE it! Thanks for the idea :)
I just buy a "thrift store" suitcase. Last time I was in Mass visiting my Mom's family, I got 3 hard shell suitcases from the late 1970s at a garage sale for $3. Likely it would cost you over $25 to ship back, so I just soak it up in the suitcase charge from most airlines. Although, the lamp wouldn't make the cut and you'd have to take the flamingo out of the frame and put it in a tube.....
girrrrl. some serious finds!
love the flamingo, while and horse watercolor.
